Most people want to know how much things cost before taking the plunge.
Below is a guide based upon the percentage of the total cost of the building works as if carried out by a professional builder.

For example, a standard two storey house extension costing £30k would attract a fee in the region of
£600 – £1500. The lower figure would represent a straight forward build whereas the upper design fee would cover the need for a foundation design, roof design to allow for living space and lintel designs.

• Extensions (either domestic or commercial) 2.0 – 5.0%
• Loft Conversions 5.0 – 10.0%
• Garage and Conservatories 2.0 – 2.5%

Question:- Why do the fees above have a range?
Answer:- Remember this is an estimator and the range is to take into account for the amount of structural design work that a development may require over and above the actual architectural design fees. If there is no structural calculations or design work required the lower end percentage value can be assumed for estimation purposes. If in doubt please contact us .
